Michael Kiser serves as Colby College’s first vice president for communications. He oversees the College’s brand identity, digital and print design, content strategy, media relations, social media, and web development. Prior to his tenure at Colby, he was the director of development communications at Virginia Tech, where he served as chief communications officer for the university’s 130-person development division and for Invent the Future, Virginia Tech’s $1B comprehensive campaign. He is a graduate of Wabash College (B.A. English) and Purdue University (M.A. English/Creative Writing).
Michael’s been active in higher education in both public and private settings for more than fifteen years and has won numerous CASE Awards for Excellence for his work in publications, development communications, crisis management, and more.
