April 5 – April 7, 2017
Location: Champaign, IL
The University of Illinois Web Conference is an affordable three-day conference for web designers, developers, social media marketers, content managers, and other web professionals within higher education and beyond. Not only that, our location is the perfect backdrop for an event of this kind.
The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign has a rich history in technical achievement, with faculty and alumni creating such things as the first graphical browser, YouTube, and PayPal, to name just a few. We started a formal web community in 1999 to unify our web efforts and strengthen our development. The annual conference has been key to that mission. We are considered leaders in the area of web accessibility, and disability resources in general. With such an emphasis and strength in this area there is a great understanding and appreciation for web standards and best practices throughout our campus. In addition to all this, we are a wonderfully diverse campus with a large international population. We have 43,000 students, 10,000 faculty/staff, and over 425,000 living alumni.
This year we’re proud to host Snapchat artist Cyrene Q, Facebook’s accessibility guru Matt King, and women-in-tech advocate Saron Yitbarek, as our keynote speakers. Breakout sessions and workshops cover a wide range of web topics. Registration is required.
