Andrew CasselAndrew Cassel has been creating and curating social media content for the University of Alaska Fairbanks since 2011. Cassel is a five-time winner of Aurora Awards of Excellence from the Public Relations Society of America – Alaska including the 2018 Grand Award of Excellence. Cassel has also presented about social media content best practices to the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce, Alaska Democrats, Perseverance Theatre, as part of the Transportation Communicators webinar series, at the American Geophysical Union 2018 annual fall meeting, as part of the HigherEd Experts 2018 and 2019 Higher Ed Content conferences, the 2019 eduWeb Digital Summit as well as at the 2017 and 2018 Higher Ed Web annual conferences.

He is looked to by companies worldwide for his knowledge of hiring strategies as well as how to attract and retain millennials. Andi is founder at Big Sea, a digital marketing agency founded in 2005 in St. Petersburg, Florida. Their clients include universities, health and wellness providers, attractions and museums, and B2B service providers (among many, many more) all over the country. They’re HubSpot partners but platform agnostic; Values-based and results-obsessed. They work with smart companies with complex problems to solve and we excel.
Andi was a 2016 finalist for Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Businesswoman of the Year in Technology, serve on the faculty of USF’s Digital Marketing program, have presented research at academic and professional conferences all over the country, serve on the advisory board of the Digital Marketing Certification Program at the University of South Florida and The Studio@620, and founded Tampa Bay’s chapter of Girl Develop It.
Andi has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, another in Visual Art, graduate work in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Mass Communication, with a concentration in Strategic Communication. Andi’s research always involved digital communication — even before digital became a way of life. (She wrote my final research on MySpace so … she knows a thing or two.)
