As a social media coordinator for The University of Texas at Austin, Nick Persac manages channels with a combined following of about 1 million people. He began covering the world of higher education as a journalism student at LSU, where he worked as editor in chief of the student newspaper. He continued being a higher-ed storyteller as professional journalist, reporting on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette for the city’s daily newspaper. He joined the communications team at UT Austin in 2014 as a content marketing specialist focused on digital storytelling and content production. In his current role, he leads long-term strategy for the university’s social-media channels, oversees daily publication efforts and assists with presidential communications.
